River Wharfe, Bolton Abbey, Looking North
Bolton Abbey despite what the name suggests is nowhere near the town in Lancashire it is in fact is in the estate within which is located the 12th century Augustine Bolton Priory in North Yorkshire dales on the banks of the River Wharfe. It is a very popular tourist attraction.
Robert has visited here on many occasions; this painting was inspired by the spring light and freshness of a beautiful April day.
