Delph donkey

Reason and inspiration for the work;

The Delph Donkey was the name of a train line opened in 1849 to connect Oldham to Greenfield to Delph. The part of the route of the line from Uppermill to Delph is now a beautiful public walkway. Robert has painted at a spot where it runs parallel with Delph New Road, Dobcross
